Event Technology – FAQ
What components do I need for a complete PA system?
A full PA system consists of: microphone(s), mixing desk (or power mixer), optionally equaliser and effects unit, power amp (or active speakers) and loudspeaker boxes (tops + subwoofers). Plus cables and stands. For small events (up to 200 people) a power mixer with active speakers is the most cost-effective solution.
What is the difference between active and passive loudspeakers?
Active speakers have the amplifier built in – signal cable only, no separate power amp required. Passive speakers need an external amp but are more flexibly scalable and often more economical for large systems.
Which wireless technology is recommended for professional stage use?
For professional stage applications UHF diversity systems (e.g. Sennheiser, Shure) with at least 2 antennas per receiver are recommended. Important: frequency coordination for multiple systems, observe licensed frequency bands (national telecoms authority).
