Veranstaltungstechnik – Wireless Microphone Systems
Wireless microphone systems (UHF/VHF) for professional stage, conference and event applications – systems with handheld transmitters, bodypack transmitters for headset or lavalier, and rack-mountable 19-inch receivers. Diversity receivers with two antennas for maximum transmission reliability and interference-free operation even during movement on stage. System structure: Every wireless mic system consists of a transmitter (handheld or bodypack) and a receiver (stationary, desktop or 19-inch rack). UHF systems operate in the 470–860 MHz band and offer better range (up to 100 m) and fewer interferences than VHF. Diversity receivers automatically switch to the stronger antenna – eliminating dropouts during body movement. Multi-channel systems allow up to 16 or more simultaneous transmitters on coordinated frequencies. Applications: live concert and theatre, conference and panel discussion, trade fair and presentation, church service and school events, TV production and film shoot. Licence note: In Germany UHF frequencies in the 470–694 MHz range are available for wireless microphones. Certain sub-bands require licences – please check current telecoms authority requirements before purchase. We advise on frequency planning for multi-channel setups on request. Wireless Microphone Systems – FAQ
How many wireless systems can I run simultaneously?
This depends on available spectrum and system quality. In the UHF band, careful frequency coordination typically allows 8–16 systems simultaneously. Professional multi-channel sets (e.g. Shure, Sennheiser) come with pre-coordinated frequency sets.
What range does a UHF wireless system achieve?
Line-of-sight typically 50–100 m. Walls, metal structures and other wireless systems reduce range. Diversity receivers and well-positioned antennas maximise coverage.
What does a professional wireless mic system cost?
Entry-level semi-professional units from approx. €100, professional UHF diversity systems from Sennheiser or Shure typically €400–1,500 per channel. We advise on budget and requirement profile.
