Battery Ordinance & Battery Take-Back

Do not dispose of batteries in household waste

Under the German Battery Act (BattG), we as a retailer are obliged to take back batteries and accumulators that we have placed on the market, free of charge. This applies regardless of whether the battery is still usable or not.

Please never dispose of batteries or accumulators in household waste! The symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin on the packaging indicates that batteries must be disposed of separately.

Cd
Cadmium
above 0.002 % by weight
Pb
Lead
above 0.004 % by weight
Hg
Mercury
above 0.0005 % by weight

Batteries and accumulators that exceed these thresholds are labelled with the relevant chemical symbol (Cd, Pb or Hg) below the crossed-out bin symbol.

Return to Us You can return old batteries and accumulators free of charge to our warehouse in Vörstetten (near Freiburg), either by post or when collecting an order in person. Please pre-pay sufficient postage; return shipping costs are borne by the sender.
Collection Points Near You Used batteries can also be handed in free of charge at municipal collection points, retail stores (supermarkets, electronics retailers) or recycling centres. The GRS collection system operates drop-off boxes throughout Germany.
