Veranstaltungstechnik – Equalisers
Equalisers for PA system optimisation, room correction and creative sound shaping – graphic equalisers with 15 or 31 bands (1/2 and 1/3 octave), parametric equalisers with continuously adjustable centre frequency and bandwidth. In 19-inch format for rack mounting – between mixing desk and power amplifier. Graphic EQ (31-band, 1/3-octave): Standard tool for PA feedback suppression and room correction. Each of the 31 sliders represents a 1/3-octave (ISO third-band frequencies). Boost/cut ±12 dB per band. Stereo version (2x31 bands) for stereo PA or independent monitor paths. Parametric EQ: More flexible control – centre frequency, Q factor and level continuously adjustable – ideal for precise correction at critical frequencies. Applications: live PA system optimisation, pre-show feedback suppression, monitor path tailoring, studio mastering and broadcast. Equalisers – FAQ
Why do I need an equaliser in the PA?
For room correction (reduce problematic resonant frequencies), feedback suppression (narrow-band notch at ringing frequency), and sound shaping (bass boost, high-frequency sparkle). An EQ pass is recommended before every PA setup.
Graphic EQ or parametric – which should I choose?
Graphic EQ: fast, intuitive, sufficient for most live PA applications. Parametric: more precise, narrow-band corrections possible – ideal for complex room problems or studio use.
