Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need a Schuko (Type F) plug versus a Europlug (Type C)?

A Schuko Type F (CEE 7/4) carries the protective earth and is rated up to 16 A — mandatory for any class I device with a metal housing. A Europlug Type C is class II only, 2.5 A maximum, and physically smaller. Use it for double-insulated low-power devices (chargers, lamps, small appliances).

Are C13 and C15 connectors interchangeable?

Mechanically yes — a C15 plug fits a C14 inlet, but not the other way round. The C15 inlet has a notch that prevents a C13 from being inserted, ensuring that high-temperature appliances cannot be powered by a 70 °C-rated cable.

What is the difference between Molex and S-ATA Power?

Molex is the legacy 4-pin connector for IDE drives, fans and accessories. S-ATA Power is the modern 15-pin standard for SATA drives, providing 3.3 V, 5 V and 12 V on dedicated rails.
