Europlug Type C (CEE 7/16)
The flat 2.5 A class II plug that fits virtually every continental European socket - the most universal European mains plug.
The Europlug Type C (CEE 7/16) is the small, flat, two-pin plug for class II (double-insulated) devices. Its two 4.0 mm round pins (slightly thinner than Schuko's 4.8 mm pins) are angled inward at the tip - this lets the plug squeeze into the narrow European Type E and Type F socket throats. With a 2.5 A current limit it is restricted to low-power devices: chargers, lamps, small appliances, audio gear, shavers. Anything class I (with metal housing requiring protective earth) needs Schuko or another country plug.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the Europlug limited to 2.5 A?
The thin 4.0 mm pins are not specified for higher currents - and the plug itself is too small to mount a fuse or robust strain relief. For 16 A class I devices use Schuko or CEE 7/7.
Will an Europlug fit a UK Type G socket?
No - UK sockets have rectangular slots and require a fuse in the plug. Use a Type-C-to-Type-G travel adapter.
Is the Europlug polarised?
No, it is symmetric. As a class II plug there is no earth, and line / neutral are interchangeable.
