PBX modules are plug-in expansion units that increase the connection and channel capacity of a modular PBX. Common module types: a/b modules (additional analogue extensions), S0 modules (ISDN desk phones), VoIP modules (SIP channels), DECT modules (internal DECT base stations) and GSM modules (direct mobile network connection). Auerswald COMpact series (4000, 5020, 5500) and Agfeo systems are typical modular systems with vendor-specific slots. Always check compatibility with the system and installed firmware version.
