Surges are voltages that exceed the permitted range of operating voltages for Mobotix IP cameras. The max. Operating voltage for PoE is z. B. 57 V. surges do not necessarily lead to damage to Mobotix IP cameras. Only when the operating voltage is exceeded by a multiple of the over-voltage or over a long period or even permanently applied, there will be damages.
Examples of causes of surges
-Direct Lightning strike to the installation itself or in the network cable

Note: - The distance between MX-Over Voltage Protection Box and Mobotix camera must not be more than 50 cm.

Overvoltage protection
