MDT-A heat shrink tubing is a medium-walled heat shrink tubing range with hot melt adhesive that ensures reliable performance for electrical splices, connections and terminations up to 1.0 kV as well as mechanical and environmental protection. MDT-A heat shrink tubing has a halogen-free, cross-linked polyolefin outer wall and a factory-applied adhesive layer on the inside.

When the support coil is retracted after the tubing is positioned, the tubing shrinks to form a watertight seal. The active deformation of the specially formulated material ensures a permanent seal and insulation from the environment.
8420 and 8430 series cold shrink insulation tubing is especially useful for electrical insulation on all solid dielectric (rubber or plastic) insulated wires and cable splices up to 1,000 V. They are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. They often provide good physical protection and environmental shielding on communication lines and other non-electrical applications (including cable jacket repairs). The temperature range is -40 °C to 90 °C. In applications where the product is continuously exposed to UV radiation, it should be wrapped with Super 33+T vinyl insulation tape or Self-vulcanizing silicone rubber tape 70, for example.
