DRAGINO NBIoT Soil Moisture Overview
The Dragino NSE01 is an NB-IoT soil moisture and EC sensor designed for IoT in agriculture. It records soil moisture, soil temperature and soil conductivity and wirelessly uploads the values to the IoT server via the NB-IoT network.
NarrowBand Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is a standards-based Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) technology designed to enable a wide range of new IoT devices and services. NB-IoT significantly improves user device power consumption, system capacity and spectrum efficiency, especially in deep coverage.
NSE01 supports various uplink methods such as TCP, MQTT, UDP and CoAP for different application needs.
NES01 is powered by an 8500mAh Li-SOCI2 battery, designed for long-term use of up to 5 years. (Battery life depends on the usage environment, update period and uplink method)
To use the NSE01, the user needs to check whether there is NB-IoT coverage in their environment and which bands the NSE01 supports. If the local operator supports it, the user needs to obtain an NB-IoT SIM card from the local operator and install NSE01 to get NB-IoT network connection.
