What is the difference between CommScope SYSTIMAX and NETCONNECT?
SYSTIMAX is CommScope's premium cabling line for the most demanding enterprise and data centre installations: it offers a 25-year system warranty, the highest performance margins and is optimised for 10G/40G/100G infrastructures. NETCONNECT targets professional network installations with high quality requirements, but offers a cost-optimised portfolio without the comprehensive warranty programmes of SYSTIMAX.

Which copper cable category is recommended for new enterprise installations?
For all new installations, Cat.6A (10GBase-T up to 100 m) is recommended, as this standard supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet and PoE++ (up to 90 W), covering both current and future requirements. Cat.6 (1GBase-T) is sufficient for basic office installations without high bandwidth planning. CommScope offers both categories in S/FTP shielding for industrial environments.

When should fibre optic cabling be preferred over copper in a data centre?
Fibre is essential in data centres for backbone connections over 100 m, for 40G/100G/400G transmission rates and for inter-building connections. CommScope offers OM4 multimode fibre for short data centre runs (up to approx. 150 m at 100G) and OS2 singlemode for campus and wide-area connections. Pre-terminated MPO trunk cables simplify installation significantly.
