Modular DKM KVM extenders consist of enclosures with 2, 4, 6, or 21 slots, base modules with video and two USB HID interfaces, and upgrade modules for peripheral connections. Special converter modules allow analog-to-digital conversion, enabling support for various analog video sources. For space-saving installations, an 8-port switching module is also available, offering the same functionality as the DKM FXC switches.

Upgrade Modules:

Upgrade modules transmit signals via the base cards and do not require their own cable connection to the opposite side, saving on infrastructure costs and space. Choose from a variety of interfaces such as USB HID, PS/2, embedded USB 2.0 (36 Mbps), serial RS-232 or RS-422 data, bidirectional analog audio, and uni- or bidirectional digital audio. Combine the cards with base modules in a single enclosure.

DKM Modular Extenders Overview:

The enclosures are available as desktop versions with two, four, or six slots, or in a 48,3 cm ( 19 inch ) version with 21 slots. For critical applications, use enclosures with dual power supplies for redundancy. Choose between internal or external power supplies, AC power, or DC in industrial applications (12-, 24-, or 48VDC). Desktop enclosures can also be mounted on walls, under desks, or in 48,3 cm ( 19 inch ) IT racks using optional mounting kits. Configure a chassis with transmitter cards for connecting the computer and a chassis with receiver cards for the console.

Base modules provide the cable connection to the opposite side. Every enclosure must be equipped with at least one base card offering one or two video channels and two USB HID ports.

Upgrade modules provide additional peripheral interfaces and do not require their own connection to the opposite side.

DKM converter modules allow the connection of video sources with analog formats like component, composite, or industry standards like EGA, CGA, or MDA. Additional options for graphic applications include SDI, HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI. The converter modules convert analog signals into digital DVI-D signals and transmit them losslessly over long distances.

DKM FXC switching modules offer significant space savings. They occupy two slots in the enclosure but provide 8 ports and the full functionality of DKM FXC matrix switches. Use these modules in the transmitter enclosure to avoid the need for a separate KVM switch, allowing users to instantly switch between eight computers. Choose between models with eight CATx or eight fiber connections.

Modular DKM extenders can be used for point-to-point extensions when the computer is located away from the console. They offer a wide variety of interfaces and the highest video quality, making them ideal for graphic professionals and users of specialized peripherals. In larger, switched extensions, modular DKM extenders integrate seamlessly with DKM FX and FXC matrix switches. These systems provide a scalable and flexible switching solution for connecting all company resources.
