Are Axis cameras compatible with existing VMS platforms? Yes. Axis cameras support ONVIF Profiles S, G, T and M and are compatible with most leading video management systems including Milestone, Genetec and Bosch. The open VAPIX API also enables custom integrations. |

Are Axis cameras available for hazardous areas? Yes. The Axis ATEX series is certified for Zone 1 and Zone 2 under the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and is suitable for chemical plants, refineries and other explosive atmospheres. |

How are Axis cameras powered? Most Axis network cameras are powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE or PoE+) – a single cable for both data and power. For installations without PoE infrastructure, Axis offers midspans and external power supplies. |
