Are Axis cameras compatible with existing VMS platforms?

Yes. Axis cameras support ONVIF Profiles S, G, T and M and are compatible with most leading video management systems including Milestone, Genetec and Bosch. The open VAPIX API also enables custom integrations.

Are Axis cameras available for hazardous areas?

Yes. The Axis ATEX series is certified for Zone 1 and Zone 2 under the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and is suitable for chemical plants, refineries and other explosive atmospheres.

How are Axis cameras powered?

Most Axis network cameras are powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE or PoE+) – a single cable for both data and power. For installations without PoE infrastructure, Axis offers midspans and external power supplies.
