Type 2 surge arresters of the OVR404 series are suitable for protecting low-voltage electrical systems and terminal devices in the 230/400 V system. The devices can be used as surge arresters in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 443 and Part 534 as well as within the framework of the lightning protection zone concept at zone transition 0B - 1 and higher. The high nominal discharge capacity of 20 kA enables an increased service life compared to the minimum requirements of the standard. The devices consist of a base unit and plug-in protection modules, which can be easily removed to carry out the insulation measurement. Contact is made directly via the Smissline TP plug-in base system. The surge arresters are tested as type 2 arresters in accordance with the test standard DIN EN 61643-11 (VDE 0675 Part 6-11) and class II in accordance with IEC 61643-11.
