ACS Series – Frequency Converters The ACS frequency converters (ACS150, ACS355, ACS580, ACS880) provide precise, energy-efficient speed and torque control for electric motors. Used in pumps, fans, conveyors and production lines – scalable from 0.18 kW to the MW range.

AF/MS Series – Contactors & Motor Starters ABB AF-series contactors and AL/MS motor starters protect and switch motors reliably. MS motor protection switches offer adjustable overload protection, short-circuit rating, and a compact design for control cabinet installation.

Tmax/Emax – Circuit Breakers & Disconnectors Low and medium voltage circuit breakers from the Tmax and Emax families protect installations and networks from short circuits and overloads. Moulded case designs for distribution boards; air circuit breakers for main distributions and supply points.

Industrial & Safety Relays ABB industrial and safety relays (CR series, Jokab Safety) for control and protection circuits. Safety relays meet PLe/Cat. 4 per EN ISO 13849, suitable for e-stop circuits, guard door monitoring and two-hand controls.

Motors & Generators ABB low-voltage motors (IE2 to IE4) in frame sizes 56 to 450 for pumps, compressors, mixers and general machinery. VFD-compatible, energy-efficient, available in IP55/IP66 protection ratings.

Automation & Bus Systems ABB PLCs, industrial bus systems (PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherCAT) and eAutomation solutions for process and manufacturing automation – scalable from simple control tasks to complex distributed control systems.

Which ABB frequency converters are suitable for pump and fan applications? For pumps and fans ABB recommends the ACS150 and ACS355 series for smaller outputs up to 22 kW, the ACS580 for medium power, and the ACS880 for demanding multi-axis applications up to the MW range. All variants offer closed-loop speed control, EMC filtering, and are available in IP21/IP55 enclosure ratings.

How do ABB MS motor protection switches differ from AF contactors? MS motor protection switches protect motors against overload and short circuit and trip automatically – combining protection and disconnection functions in a single device. AF contactors are pure switching elements for frequent switching under load; combined with an MS switch or monitoring relay they form the complete motor starter.

Which ABB safety relays meet PLe/Cat. 4? ABB's Jokab Safety product range (e.g. Pluto, Eden sensors, JSBT safety relays) provides components meeting PLe/Category 4 per EN ISO 13849. These are suitable for e-stop circuits, guard door monitoring and two-hand controls in machinery with the highest safety requirements.
