Weidmüller – connectivity from East WestphaliaWeidmüller goes back to a company founded in Detmold in 1850 and is still based there. The name stands for the transmission of power, signals and data in harsh environments – for everything that is screwed, clamped and labelled inside a control cabinet and on the machine. In our range the focus is clearly on the terminal block: feed-through, PE, disconnect and multi-level terminals form by far the largest group, closely followed by marking. Added to this are heavy-duty connectors, relay couplers, wire-end ferrules and the DIN rails that carry it all. For the panel builder what matters here is not the single part but the complete system: cross-connectors, end plates, end brackets and markers have to match the chosen terminal series. Once a series has been chosen, it usually stays – and the individual parts are reordered for years. |

Frequently asked questions
How do I identify the right cross-connectors for my terminal?Cross-connectors always belong to a specific terminal series and cross-section – a bridge from the WDU series does not fit a terminal of another series. What counts are the series designation and the number of poles; both appear in our item titles.
What is the difference between screw and tension spring connection?The screw terminal holds through the tightened thread and is retightened during maintenance. The tension spring terminal clamps through a spring, is wired faster and is vibration-proof, but requires the correct cross-section more strictly. In existing installations it makes sense to stay with the technology already in place.
Do I still need end plates on a terminal strip?Yes. The last terminal in a row is not insulated towards the open side – an end plate belongs there, together with an end bracket so that the strip does not travel along the DIN rail.
Are Weidmüller items available from Lieske Elektronik?We carry 13.003 Weidmüller items. Availability is shown on every item; for larger quantities we will confirm the delivery date in advance.
