Not every precompliance laboratory has the necessary space for the permanent installation of a solid metal ground plane. The roll-up grounding mat TBGP-250/140 from Tekbox is used here. Measuring at least 240cm x 140cm, it can cover many of the required areas and can be rolled up after use and stored in its transport tube to save space. The grounding mat consists of a conductive fabric with a high silver content, which is connected to a stable fleece.
The grounding mat can be used full size, partially unrolled or easily cut to size by the user according to their requirements.
4 solid contact blocks made of nickel-plated brass are supplied with the ground plane. The blocks are placed on the base plate and, due to their weight of approx. 230g and their surface, establish good electrical contact. This method is very versatile because the blocks can be easily placed and moved anywhere on the ground plane. The spacing of the threaded holes is tailored to the dimensions of the ground mounts of most Tekbox LISNs. Additionally, each block is provided with three M5 threads for contacting conventional ground straps.
