PBX Accessories – Product Details & Advice

PBX accessories cover all peripheral products that expand, connect or protect a telephone system: expansion modules (a/b, S0, VoIP), PSU/UPS solutions, gateways (ISDN-to-SIP), software licences for additional users or functions, and connection cables. Auerswald expansion modules (e.g. COMpact 4S0 Module) can be inserted in compatible COMpact systems to increase S0 port count. ISDN-to-SIP gateways (e.g. Beronet, Patton) enable continued use of ISDN PBX systems on all-IP lines. Software licences for CTI, voicemail and UC extensions are offered manufacturer-specifically.

Frequently Asked Questions

▶ How do I find the right expansion module for my system?
Expansion modules are manufacturer-specific and model-dependent. Key factors: model designation of the PBX, expansion slot size (S, M, L for Auerswald) and required interface (a/b, S0, VoIP, DECT). Contact us with your system model for a matching recommendation.
▶ What is a SIP-ISDN gateway and what is it needed for?
A SIP-ISDN gateway (also ISDN VoIP gateway) connects an ISDN PBX to a SIP trunk from the IP provider. It translates ISDN signalling (DSS1) into SIP (RFC 3261) and vice versa. This allows continued use of existing ISDN systems on all-IP lines without immediate full migration.
▶ Which UPS is suitable for a telephone system?
PBX systems require a UPS with a pure sine wave in battery mode (not simulated sine!), as many PBX power supplies are sensitive to non-sinusoidal voltage. Capacity: for a PBX with 50–100 W power consumption, a UPS with 600–1000 VA capacity provides 15–30 minutes of bridging time.
