DECT batteries are generally manufacturer-specific. Gigaset uses NiMH batteries with a proprietary connector (V30145-K1310-X383 or similar), Panasonic uses AAA NiMH or proprietary batteries depending on the series. Check the model designation of your handset and the battery type number on the original battery. Compatible alternatives can be found by searching for your device model.

▶ What is a TAE-to-RJ11 adapter and when do I need it?

A TAE-to-RJ11 adapter connects a German TAE socket (F-coded for telephone) with the RJ11 plug (6P4C) of an imported or older device (e.g. American phone, fax). It is needed when the terminal device has an RJ11 plug but the socket is TAE format. Adapters are also available for the reverse (RJ45 socket, TAE device).

▶ How often should DECT batteries be replaced?

NiMH batteries in DECT phones typically have a lifespan of 300–500 charge cycles or 2–4 years with daily use. Signs of an ageing battery: significantly shorter talk time (<50% of new condition), poor charging performance at room temperature, device becomes hot at low battery. Tip: never fully deplete DECT batteries and use deep discharge protection if available.
