RUCKUS – wireless for demanding environmentsRUCKUS Networks was founded in 2004 and today belongs to the CommScope group. The company builds enterprise wireless networks for environments in which many devices transmit at the same time – schools, hotels, event venues, hospitals and large office buildings. In our range access points are central, followed by switches, plus controllers, power supplies and mounting accessories. The access points are available for ceiling mounting indoors and in weatherproof versions for yards, halls and outdoor areas. The difference from simple wireless equipment shows where things get tight: when a hundred devices are connected in one room, the antenna technology and the management of the radio cells decide whether the network stays usable or collapses. |

Frequently asked questions
How many access points do I need for an area?It is not the area alone that decides, but the number of simultaneously connected devices and the construction of the building. In an open warehouse a few are sufficient; in a school building with solid walls and full classrooms considerably more are needed. We calculate this for your situation on request.
Do I need a controller?From a handful of access points it is clearly worthwhile: it distributes settings, manages radio channels and shows the state of the installation. For two or three devices it also works without one, each then being set up individually.
Can I connect access points to an existing switch?Yes, provided the switch supplies PoE in the required power class and the power budget is sufficient for all devices together. If it supplies no PoE, injectors and power supplies are available as an interim solution.
Are Ruckus items available from Lieske Elektronik?We carry 378 Ruckus items. Availability is shown on every item; for larger quantities we will confirm the delivery date in advance.
