RCS Audio-Systems SM-025S Shoulder Megaphone, max. 25W with Siren content_copy

The SM-025S from RCS Audio-Systems is a robust transistor megaphone with a maximum power output of 25 watts, designed for use in safety-critical and public areas. It features a highly directional sound horn that enables high sound projection and a range of up to 1,000 meters outdoors. The device is particularly suitable for events, construction sites, swimming pools, or emergency services, where clear and long-range communication is required. The enclosure is made of impact- and scratch-resistant ABS plastic in a pearl white-light brown color scheme and is equipped with a red signal stripe to enhance visibility in public or hazardous environments.

Applications
This megaphone is designed for use both indoors and outdoors. Its range of up to 1,000 meters outdoors makes it especially suitable for large areas such as sports fields, construction sites, or emergency situations where acoustic signaling over long distances is necessary. The robust construction and impact-resistant plastic body ensure high mechanical durability, making it suitable for rugged use.

Functions and Features in Detail
The SM-025S comes with a handheld microphone connected to the device via a fixed spiral cable. The talk button includes a lock function, allowing continuous voice transmission without the need to continuously hold the button. Additionally, an integrated volume control enables individual adjustment of the output volume. The microphone capsule has a directional characteristic that effectively minimizes feedback effects, ensuring clear, distortion-free voice transmission.

Technology Explained Simply
The maximum power of 25 watts ensures sufficient sound output that remains intelligible even in noisy environments. Power is supplied by six baby cells (UM-2), which provide up to 8 hours of operation under normal use. The batteries are housed within the device itself and are not included in the delivery. The highly directional sound projection of the horn ensures that sound is focused in a specific direction, increasing range and reducing unnecessary noise emissions in other directions.

Compatibility and Accessories
An optional storage box is available for the SM-025S, allowing the device to be stored safely and dust-free. Alternative models mentioned include EPACK 1Y PW FC NBD ANLZ 2500 HW and EPACK 4Y FC NBD WCDMR FF 5980 4, but no further technical details or compatibility information are provided. The storage box is intended solely for storage and is not required for operating the megaphone.

Mounting and Installation
The device is designed as a handheld unit and requires no mounting or installation. It is held directly in the hand and operated via the integrated handheld microphone. Single-hand operation is enabled by the lock button and the ergonomic shape of the microphone, ensuring flexible use even while moving.

Operational Advantages
The combination of long range, robust enclosure, and single-hand operation makes the SM-025S a reliable communication device in dynamic operational situations. The minimized feedback due to the directional microphone capsule ensures clear voice transmission, even at high volumes. The long operating time of up to 8 hours under normal use reduces the need for frequent battery changes, which is particularly advantageous during extended operations.
