Which RAID levels do PROMISE systems support?
PROMISE products support all common RAID levels: RAID 0 (striping), 1 (mirroring), 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Hardware RAID controllers additionally offer JBOD and mixed mode for flexible configurations without CPU load.
Are PROMISE NAS systems compatible with VMware and Windows Server?
Yes. PROMISE storage solutions are officially compatible with VMware ESXi, Microsoft Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux-based virtualisation environments. iSCSI and SMB/NFS protocols are fully supported.
How do PROMISE NAS and SAN systems differ?
NAS systems (Network Attached Storage) provide file-based access via SMB/NFS – ideal for file servers and backup. SAN solutions (Fibre Channel / iSCSI) deliver block-based storage with the lowest latency for databases and virtual machines.
