Phybridge – PoE over Coax and Single Pair

Phybridge is a Canadian specialist in Long-Reach PoE technology. FLEX – PoE over Coaxial Cable The FLEX series enables PoE Ethernet over existing coaxial cables (RG-6, RG-59). Ranges up to 300 m, IEEE 802.3af/at-compliant PoE – ideal for migrating analogue camera infrastructure to IP cameras and other PoE devices without any rewiring.	FLEX2 – PoE over Single-Pair Copper FLEX2 transmits Ethernet and PoE over a single pair of conductors – such as existing telephone wiring or 2-wire circuits. Particularly suited for converting telephone and door intercom systems to IP-based solutions in office buildings and premises.

UniPhyer – Managed PoE Switches The UniPhyer line offers managed long-reach PoE switches with multiple ports for centralised deployment in distribution rooms. Supports VLAN, QoS and remote management – for structured network migration in larger premises and campus environments. Which cable types does Phybridge support for Long-Reach PoE? Phybridge products are designed for coaxial cables (RG-6, RG-59, RG-11) as well as single-pair copper conductors – including existing telephone cables, 2-wire installations and comparable legacy wiring. Twisted-pair cables (Cat 5/6) can also be used, but are not the primary application.

How far can PoE be transmitted with Phybridge? The Phybridge FLEX series achieves ranges of up to 300 metres over coaxial cable – a significant advantage compared to the 100-metre limit of standard Cat Ethernet. The exact range depends on cable type, cross-section and the power consumption of the connected endpoint device.

Are Phybridge switches compatible with standard PoE endpoints? Yes. Phybridge products deliver IEEE-802.3af/at-compliant PoE at the endpoint adapters. Any certified PoE device – IP cameras, WLAN access points, IP phones, IoT sensors – works directly with Phybridge without modification. A standard PoE switch or PoE injector is sufficient as the uplink.
