OKI (Oki Electric Industry) was founded in 1881 by Kibataro Oki in Japan and is one of the oldest electronics companies in the world. The company manufactured Japan's first telephone in 1881 and developed into a leading manufacturer of professional printing solutions.

OKI is the inventor of the LED printer: in 1981 the company introduced the world’s first page printer with an LED array print head (OPP6100), followed in 1983 by the first mass-produced LED printer delivering 20 pages per minute. This technology remains the foundation of the entire OKI printer portfolio to this day.
