NetModule – Robust Communication Technology for Mobile and Industrial Networking

NetModule develops and manufactures industrial routers and communication solutions for applications where standard hardware reaches its limits: rail vehicles, buses, commercial vehicles and stationary industrial installations. Devices are designed for operating temperature ranges of –40 to +70 °C, vibration and shock resistant to EN 61373, and comply with the railway standard EN 50155.

The portfolio includes 4G/LTE and 5G routers for mobile broadband communication, WLAN routers for passenger internet and operational communication, multi-WAN gateways with dual SIM and VPN, and IoT routers with configurable serial interfaces and digital I/Os for M2M applications. The NB router series NB1600, NB1800, NB2700 and NB3700 cover all performance classes.

NB1800 Series – 4G/5G Mobile Routers for Vehicles Compact LTE/5G routers for commercial vehicles, buses and rail vehicles. Dual SIM, WLAN b/g/n/ac, VPN (OpenVPN/IPsec), configurable routing. Wide voltage input 12–48 V DC, operating temperature –40 to +70 °C. EN 50155 compliant.		NB3700 Series – Multi-WAN Routers for Industry High-performance industrial routers with up to 4 cellular interfaces (LTE/5G), WLAN and Ethernet. Ideal for high-availability M2M connections in manufacturing and infrastructure applications. SDK for custom applications, remote management via Web GUI and CLI.

NB2700 – IoT Gateway with Serial Interfaces Communication gateway with RS232/RS485, digital I/Os and GPS. Connects legacy serial devices (meters, PLCs) to cloud and control systems via LTE/WiFi. Configurable protocol conversion (Modbus, MQTT, REST). DIN rail mounting.		NG800 – Next-Generation 5G Router High-performance 5G multi-access router for critical infrastructure. Which NetModule routers are approved for rail vehicles to EN 50155? The NetModule NB1800, NB3700 and NG800 series are EN 50155 compliant and certified for installation in rail vehicles. The devices also comply with EN 61373 (shock/vibration) and EN 50121 (railway EMC). For vehicle projects, pre-approval requirements should be clarified – Lieske advises on request.

How can legacy serial devices be connected to networks via NetModule gateways? The NetModule NB2700 and similar IoT gateways feature RS232/RS485 interfaces with configurable protocol conversion.
