Professional Business Communications – from IP PBX to the CloudMitel was founded in 1973 by Michael Cowpland and Terry Matthews in Ottawa, Canada. After decades of experience in TDM PBX systems, Mitel has fully specialised in VoIP, unified communications (UC) and contact centre solutions. The acquisition of Unify in 2023 extended the portfolio with the established OpenScape and Unify product families.
