Intended use
The KNX weather station records the meteorological data wind speed, precipitation, twilight, temperature and brightness three times depending on the direction.
The main area of application is automatic, weather-dependent shading control. It is specially designed for the home. To increase functional reliability, the weather station monitors itself in some important functions and reports corresponding errors independently via reporting objects on the bus.
It is intended for outdoor installation on a mast or on a wall.
The bus connection to the KNX is integrated.
The evaluation of the data itself, in particular the limit value processing, already takes place in the weather station.
It is protected from functional impairment by frost and condensation by a built-in heater up to -20 °C. The heater also ensures that the sensor surface of the precipitation sensor dries quickly after rain or defrosts snow and ice.
The unit is powered by the bus, with the exception of the heater and the supply of the precipitation sensor. The weather station requires an external 24 V AC/DC power supply for heating, without which precipitation detection is not possible.
Logic gates are available for cascading several weather stations and for linking the limit values and monitoring functions. Blocking elements enable individual functions to be blocked on site.
