GVS – KNX technology for buildings and homesGVS Smart was founded in 1999 and manufactures products for building automation to the KNX standard. KNX is the manufacturer-independent standard for building services – devices from different brands work together on the same bus, which is exactly what makes planning independent of a single supplier. In our range push-button sensors dominate, above all the multifunction sensors of the ADVANCE series with matching rocker sets and cover frames in aluminium, glass and several colours. Added to this are switch, blind and heating actuators, touch panels, IR and Zigbee gateways as well as motion detectors. For the electrical planner the separation between base unit and operating surface is the practical point: the sensor sits in the box, the rocker set and the frame determine the appearance. The look can therefore be matched to the building without changing the function. |

Frequently asked questions
Can I mix GVS devices with other KNX products?Yes, that is the purpose of the standard: KNX devices from different manufacturers work together on one bus. Parameters are set using the usual planning software, into which the manufacturer supplies its product data.
What is the difference between sensor and actuator?The sensor registers an operation or a measurement and sends a telegram onto the bus – a button, a motion detector, a thermostat. The actuator receives it and switches the power, moves the blind or controls the valve. Both are planned separately: sensors in the wall, actuators in the distribution board.
How do I choose rocker set and frame?Both have to match the base unit of the push-button sensor – what counts are the series and the number of buttons. Within the matching version the choice of material and colour tone is free; the details appear in our item titles.
Are GVS items available from Lieske Elektronik?We carry 234 GVS items. Availability is shown on every item; for larger quantities we will confirm the delivery date in advance.
I only have the GVS part number from a specification.That is enough. The manufacturer part number is part of our item titles – enter it in the search or send us the whole list.
