GUDE Systems GmbH was founded in 1988 by Dr Michael Gude in Cologne and is one of Germany's leading manufacturers of intelligent power distribution units and monitoring systems for professional IT infrastructures. The company develops and manufactures all products entirely in Germany.

The GUDE Expert Power Control and Expert PDU Energy series provide network-based control and measurement of current, voltage, power factor, active power and other electrical parameters – directly via SNMP, Modbus TCP, REST API or web interface. Switched PDUs allow remote on/off switching of individual outlets and automatic restart of unresponsive devices.

In addition to AC PDUs, the range also includes DC power distribution units for 5 V, 12 V and 24 V systems, as well as environmental sensors for temperature, humidity and other parameters in the data centre.

What is the difference between metered and switched PDUs? Metered PDUs capture current, voltage and energy consumption without actively intervening in the power supply – ideal for energy monitoring. Switched PDUs additionally allow individual outlets to be remotely toggled via the network and devices to be restarted.

Can GUDE PDUs be integrated into existing monitoring systems? Yes – GUDE PDUs support SNMPv3, Modbus TCP, REST API and Telnet. They integrate seamlessly into network management platforms such as Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG or proprietary data centre management tools.

Are GUDE PDUs also available for DC environments? Yes – in addition to standard AC PDUs, GUDE also offers switched and metered DC power distribution units for 5 V, 12 V and 24 V supply voltages, particularly suitable for IT and AV systems with DC requirements.
