What is the Gira KNX system and which building functions can be integrated?
The Gira KNX system is a complete building automation solution based on the globally open KNX standard. It integrates lighting control, blinds, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), security technology and door communication in a unified bus system – all configurable via Gira Project Assistant software.
Are Gira products compatible with existing KNX systems from other manufacturers?
Yes. KNX is a manufacturer-neutral international standard (ISO/IEC 14543). All KNX-certified Gira products are fully interoperable with devices from other KNX manufacturers. Gira components can be seamlessly integrated into existing KNX infrastructures or combined with products from other manufacturers.
Which Gira solution is suitable for large commercial buildings with central management?
For commercial and administrative buildings, the Gira FacilityServer is recommended. It enables central visualisation, control and monitoring of all building functions via a web-based interface. Time programmes, energy monitoring, alarm management and remote access are integrated.
