About Ferraz-Shawmut / MersenFerraz-Shawmut is the brand name under which the Mersen Group has distributed circuit protection products for decades. The origins date back to 1891; in 1999 Carbone Lorraine acquired the Gould-Shawmut protection division and in 2010 the group was renamed Mersen. Products continue to be traded and stocked worldwide under the Ferraz-Shawmut name. The protection portfolio covers all voltage levels: from miniature and glass tube fuses through NH and NEOZED fuses to medium-voltage fuses and semiconductor protection fuses for thyristors, SCRs, IGBTs and diodes. The portfolio is complemented by power distribution blocks (finger-safe, open, miniaturised), disconnect switches, contactors and heatsink systems – everything from a single source for professional panel building and power electronics. |
