The meaning of the labels:
NYCY: Structured like NYY, but has concentric outer cables made from copper wires. Stranded with a counter helix below the outer jacket made from copper band.
NYCWY: Structured like NYY, but has concentric outer cables made from copper wires. Ceander, with a counter helix below the outer jacket made from copper band.
Usage of NYCY/NYCWY underground cables:
For laying indoors, outdoors, underground, in concrete and in water. Can be used as power and control cable, mainly for industrial facilities and switchgears in power plants, where a high mechanical protection from contact voltage is required.
Setup of NYCY/NYCWY underground cables:
Conductor: Cu, round (RE) or sector shaped (SE), solid-core class 1 VDE 0295, round (RM) or sector shaped (SM) multistranded
Multistranded round conductors of more than 50 qmm are condensed. The ground wire is made as a wave shaped concentric conductor.
Conductor insulation: PVC sheath, black
Bending radius: 12 x cable diameter
Conductor label: VDE0293-308
Non-flammability: VDE 0472 T.804 type of test B (IEC 332-1)
Cross-section: 10 mm² - 240 mm²
Temperature range:
- max. operating temperature: 70°C
- max. temperature while laying: 70°C
