Overview
The Dragino NLMS01 is an NB-IoT leaf moisture sensor for IoT in agriculture. It is designed to measure leaf moisture and temperature and send it to the platform to analyze leaf status, such as: E.g.: irrigation, humidification, dew, frost. The probe is IP67 waterproof.
NLMS01 measures leaf moisture and temperature using the FDR method. It measures the dielectric constant caused by the liquid on the leaf surface and indicates the leaf moisture value. The probe is shaped like a leaf to best simulate the properties of a real leaf. The probe has a density of 15 leaf vein lines per centimeter, allowing it to detect small drops and greater accuracy.
NarrowBand Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is a standards-based Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) technology designed to enable a wide range of new IoT devices and services. NB-IoT significantly improves user device power consumption, system capacity and spectrum efficiency, especially in deep coverage.
NLMS01 supports various uplink methods such as TCP, MQTT, UDP and CoAP for different application needs.
The NLMS01 is powered by an 8500mAh Li-SOCI2 battery that is rated for long-term use of up to 5 years. (Battery life depends on the usage environment, update time and uplink method).
To use NLMS01, the user must verify whether there is NB-IoT coverage in the local environment and with the bands that NLMS01 supports. If the local operator supports it, the user needs to obtain an NB-IoT SIM card from the local operator and install NLMS01 to get NB-IoT network connection.
