A remote drive (ARD) is used to switch connected residual current circuit breakers on and off remotely. This significantly increases system availability. ARDs with automatic function automatically switch the circuit breaker back on. If a system error is detected, it will not be switched back on again. The devices in this series switch the Doepke residual current circuit breakers DFS 2 and DFS 4. Depending on the version, the DFAs make three, one or no attempts to switch on again. They are attached to the left side of the RCCB. Remote drives of this version switch the residual current circuit breaker back on either once or three times. The switch-on occurs 15 seconds after it has been triggered. The automatic mode can be switched off, e.g. for protection during maintenance work in the distribution system. The power supply is 230 V AC. Remote triggering is also possible using a residual current simulation. The current switching position of the circuit breaker ('switched on', 'tripped' or 'switched off') is signaled by three integrated relay switching contacts. The 'blocked' state is also signalled by a relay. Notes: According to the standard, automatic reactivation is only permitted in areas to which only electrically trained persons and qualified electricians have access. The remote drive does not affect the function of the residual current circuit breaker.
