C1 / C2 - The Shaver Connector (IEC 60320)
Smallest IEC 60320 device coupling for double-insulated mini devices up to 0.2 A.
The C1/C2 connector is the smallest member of the IEC 60320 family. It is used exclusively on double-insulated class II miniature devices - classically the electric shaver, hence the nickname. Two pins, 0.2 A rating - the connection is designed for minimal power needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is C1/C2 still used?
Mainly on shavers, small clipper trimmers, mini transformer adapters and a handful of battery-less mini lamps. The narrow current rating limits the application range.
How does C1/C2 differ from C7/C8?
C7/C8 is also two-pin and class II, but with a much higher 2.5 A rating and significantly larger contacts - the standard for notebook adapters and audio gear.
Is C1/C2 still relevant in new designs?
For pure mini-device applications yes. New designs increasingly switch to C7/C8 or directly to USB-C powering.
