Cisco Catalyst switches are configured locally via IOS/IOS-XE and are suited to traditional enterprise environments with local IT. Meraki switches are purely cloud-managed – ideal for businesses without a dedicated network admin and with distributed locations.
The Cisco IE series (Industrial Ethernet) and IW series (Industrial Wireless) are specifically designed for OT environments: extended temperature range, DIN-rail mounting, enhanced vibration and shock resistance and support for industrial protocols (PROFINET, EtherNet/IP).
