BIXOLON was spun off from Samsung Electro-Mechanics as an independent company in 2002 and has since established itself as a global specialist for thermal printing solutions. What is the difference between direct thermal and thermal transfer printing?

Direct thermal prints directly onto heat-sensitive paper – simple, no ribbon required, for short-lived labels (shipping, POS). Thermal transfer transfers ink from a ribbon onto the label – durable, temperature and UV resistant, ideal for permanent product marking.

What print widths does BIXOLON offer?

The BIXOLON range extends from 2" mobile printers (58 mm print width) through 4" desktop and industrial label printers (104 mm) to 6" industrial printers (168 mm) for wide labels in logistics environments.

Do BIXOLON printers support RFID?

Yes. Selected BIXOLON models in the XT5 and XD5 series support UHF RFID to EPC Gen 2 / ISO 18000-6C and enable simultaneous printing and encoding of RFID labels for tracking applications.
