About APC – The Industry Standard for Power Protection
APC (American Power Conversion) was founded in 1981 in the USA and has significantly shaped the uninterruptible power supply market. The Smart-UPS line and NetShelter rack system are recognised as the worldwide industry standard. As part of Schneider Electric, APC today combines power protection, rack infrastructure, cooling and software under one roof.
The product portfolio ranges from compact Back-UPS units for office workstations, Smart-UPS systems for server rooms, to three-phase Symmetra installations for data centres with outputs up to 250 kW. The portfolio is complemented by PDUs, network management cards, rack enclosures and physical IT infrastructure.
As an APC reseller, Lieske Elektronik offers the complete UPS range – from individual units to project solutions for commercial, industrial and data centre applications.

Frequently Asked Questions about APC UPS Systems
Line-interactive UPS (e.g. Smart-UPS) actively filter mains voltage fluctuations and switch to battery on power failure – with a short transfer time (~4 ms). Online UPS (e.g. Symmetra) continuously power the load from the battery/inverter, with zero transfer time. Online systems are suitable for the most sensitive equipment and data centres.
Bridge time depends on load size and battery capacity. Typical Smart-UPS units bridge 5–15 minutes at full load. Significant extension is possible through external battery modules (EBM). For planned generator switchover times, we recommend systems with at least 10 minutes autonomy.
Yes. Lieske Elektronik supplies genuine APC replacement batteries (RBC series), intelligent PDUs and all rack accessory components. Please provide the model and serial number of your UPS – we will identify the correct replacement battery and prepare a quote.
