|
ABL GmbH – founded in 1923 by Albert Büttner in Lauf an der Pegnitz (Bavaria) – is a company with a pioneering history: founder Albert Büttner invented the SCHUKO plug in 1925, today the world's most widely used standard for electrical connectors. Known until end of 2021 as ABL Sursum, the company has been trading as ABL GmbH since January 2022. Alongside its core expertise in high-quality SCHUKO and CEE connectors, ABL established itself early as a pioneer of electric mobility: since 2011 the company has been developing and manufacturing wallboxes and charging stations, and today ranks among the largest manufacturers of charging infrastructure in Europe. eMobility now accounts for around 75 % of revenue. Since November 2023, ABL has been part of the international Wallbox Group, embedded in a global network for intelligent charging solutions – from the home wallbox to the public fast-charging station. |
