ABL was founded in 1923 in Lauf an der Pegnitz, Bavaria, and has been a well-established German specialist in electrical installation materials and connector systems for over a century. Following the merger with the Wallbox Group in 2023, ABL now focuses specifically on commercial EV charging infrastructure.
The ABL portfolio includes AC wallboxes from the eMH1 series for individual offices and parking spaces, the eM4 commercial charging station for car parks and residential property, and the public eMC3 charging column with calibration law compliance and vandal resistance. The range is complemented by DC fast charging stations (Supernova 220) and installation materials for CEE connectors and cable protection systems.

eMH1 – AC Wallbox for Commercial Use
The ABL eMH1 wallbox charges at 11 kW (single-phase) or 22 kW (three-phase), suitable for office car parks, company premises and corporate fleets. Compact design, integrated Type B RCD, RFID-ready and OCPP-compatible for billing solutions.
eM4 – Commercial Multi-Point Charging Station
The ABL eM4 charging column enables simultaneous charging at up to 4 charge points (4 x 22 kW AC), designed for car parks, residential properties and multi-user commercial use. Calibration-law compliant, load-management capable and suitable for billing systems.
eMC3 – Public AC Charging Column
The ABL eMC3 is designed for public and semi-public operation: vandal-resistant, calibration-law compliant, with Type 2 socket and OCPP connection for operator backends. IP55 protection, suitable for municipalities, commercial areas and fuel station sites.
Supernova 220 – DC Fast Charging
ABL's first DC fast charger with up to 220 kW output: CCS and CHAdeMO capable, smart load distribution, cloud-based monitoring. For fleet operators, logistics centres and fast charging sites at commercial locations.
CEE Connectors & Cable Protection
ABL industrial connectors in CEE format (16 A to 125 A, 3- and 5-pole) in IP44/IP67 for commercial construction sites, industry and outdoor installations. Complemented by cable conduits and cable gland systems for safe cable management.
Installation Materials & Switch Components

For fleets with billing obligations, the ABL eM4 commercial station is recommended: calibration-law compliant, multiple charge points per unit, OCPP-capable for backend integration and load management. For individual spaces with RFID access and simple billing, the eMH1 with RFID equipment is the economical alternative.
What does calibration law compliance mean for EV charging stations and when is it mandatory?
Calibration law compliance means that the charged energy is measured in a legally verifiable manner under MID/PTB – mandatory whenever third parties (employees, tenants, customers) are billed based on kWh charged. ABL stations from the eM4 and eMC3 ranges fulfil this requirement as standard.
Which ABL products are suitable for construction sites and temporary commercial connections?
For construction sites and temporary connections, ABL offers CEE industrial connectors (16 A to 125 A) in IP44/IP67 and robust cable conduits for outdoor use. The connector systems comply with EN 60309 and are compatible with standard site power distribution boards.
