Empfohlen ist der Einsatz von AFDDs in Räumen mit Schlafmöglichkeiten, Räumen oder Orten mit feuerverbreitender Struktur und Endstromkreisen mit hoher Anschlussleistung.
Allgemein wird der AFDD auch zur Erhöhung des Brandschutzes vor elektrisch gezündeten Bränden empfohlen.
