Die 3-poligen Schütze AF38Z sind zum Schalten von Leistungskreisen mit Motoren, leicht induktiven oder nicht-induktiven Lasten ausgelegt. Sie besitzen eine elektronische Spulenschnittstelle, die eine sehr breite Steuerspannung realisieren kann. Dadurch können auch große Steuerspannungsschwankungen bewältigt werden. Die Schütze mit Spulencode -21 ermöglichen die direkte Ansteuerung durch =24V DC 500mA SPS-Ausgänge und benötigen dabei eine sehr geringe Halteleistung von nur 1,7W. AFZ-Schütze können kurzen Spannungseinbrüchen und Spannungsabfällen (gemäß SEMI F47-0706) widerstehen. Alle nachträglich anbaubaren Hilfsöffnerkontakte sind als Mirrorkontakte nach IEC60947-5-1 Anhang L ausgeführt. Weiterhin besitzen sie einen eingebauten Überspannungsschutz und benötigen keine zusätzlichen Löschglieder. Weiteres Zubehör wie Zeitglieder, Verdrahtungshilfen sowie Verriegelungsglieder u.a. ergänzen das Sortiment.
