ScotchcastT casting resin No. 470 is a standard two-component cable resin made of polyurethane. It hardens at room temperature and produces only a low exothermic reaction temperature. Due to its excellent hydrolytic stability, the premium resin is also suitable for long-term applications under water. It adheres well to both metal and various plastics and is ideal for insulation and sealing as well as mechanical protection in the low-voltage range. The practical two-chamber bag contains coordinated amounts of resin and hardener, which can be combined to form a homogeneous mass by simply tearing open the separating seam and then kneading. The transparency of the bag enables visual inspection during mixing. The GMG system (closed mixing and pouring) means that contact with casting resin during processing can be practically eliminated. After pouring, the mixed pack bag with the remains of hardened casting resin can simply be disposed of in normal household waste. Disposal as hazardous waste is not necessary.
