Which SpaceMouse is suitable for SolidWorks designers?
For SolidWorks, the SpaceMouse Pro or SpaceMouse Enterprise is recommended – both offer SolidWorks-certified integration with direct shortcuts for views, sections and assembly navigation. The SpaceMouse Compact is suitable for entry-level users or designers with less intensive 3D modelling requirements. All models support the 3DxWare driver with SolidWorks profile.
Can the SpaceMouse be used simultaneously with a regular mouse?
Yes – this is in fact the recommended working method: the SpaceMouse is operated with the left hand for 3D navigation (panning, zooming, rotating), while the right hand uses the conventional mouse for selection, drawing tools and menu access. This two-handed operation is the core of the 3Dconnexion concept and enables a significantly more fluid design workflow.
Does the SpaceMouse work with AutoCAD and Revit?
Yes, 3Dconnexion devices are natively compatible with AutoCAD (2D and 3D), Revit, Inventor and other Autodesk products. The 3DxWare driver contains predefined profiles for all common Autodesk applications – including customisable key assignments for product-specific commands. Profiles are also available for 3ds Max and Maya.
