The SR3D Safety Control Device:

The SR3D is a versatile safety control device with three secure, redundant, and diverse relay outputs, along with an additional auxiliary contact (signaling contact). It is designed to safely and quickly shut down moving parts of a machine or system in the event of a hazard. The device meets the highest safety requirements up to PL e / SILCL 3 and is specially designed for continuous operation in combustion plants according to EN 50156-1 and EN 746-2, as well as for use on ships. Certifications by TÜV-Rheinland and Germanischer Lloyd (GL) confirm its suitability for maritime applications.

The SR3D supports the connection of various safety components, including emergency stop buttons, safety switches, non-contact safety switches, and safety components with OSSD outputs. It can be used in single-channel or dual-channel applications and offers monitoring functions such as cross-fault and ground-fault monitoring, feedback loop monitoring, and cyclic checking of output contacts. The switching state is displayed via an LED indicator.

Another key feature is the safe separation of safety circuits in accordance with EN 60204-1. As soon as the emergency stop circuit is closed (e.g., safety door closed), the machine is released via the SR3D. When the safety function is requested (e.g., opening of the safety door), the SR3D opens the release current paths and safely shuts down the machine. Thanks to redundant, force-guided relays, the safety function remains intact even if an individual component fails. Any failures are detected by the cyclic self-monitoring system the next time the safety function is requested.

The device is intended for installation in control cabinets with a protection class of at least IP54. Installation is carried out on a 35-mm DIN rail according to EN 60715 TH35. For the AC 115 V / 230 V version, a minimum distance of 10 mm from adjacent devices must be maintained. To ensure this spacing, the use of a ZANDER AACHEN spacer (part no. 472596) is recommended.
