Sirena – optical and acoustic signalling

Sirena S.p.A. was founded in Italy in 1974 and builds signalling devices for industrial applications. The task is always the same: a condition has to be noticed, including by someone who is looking elsewhere or wearing hearing protection.

In our range signal towers and individual beacons are central – as steady, flashing, strobe and rotating mirror beacons, in the usual signal colours and with bases for surface and tube mounting. Added to this are industrial sirens, bells and acoustic elements for the signal tower.

The modular construction is the practical part: a tower is assembled from a base, lighting elements and, if required, an acoustic element. If a further indication is needed later, an element is added instead of replacing the whole tower.

Frequently asked questions

Strobe or rotating mirror beacon – which is better when?The strobe beacon stands out strongly in the direct field of view and suits indications that have to be noticed immediately. The rotating mirror beacon spreads its beam all round and is therefore also noticed out of the corner of the eye and from various directions – the usual choice at gates and traffic routes.

How do I assemble a signal tower?From a base and the required lighting elements, which are stacked on top of each other; an acoustic element can be added. It is important that base and elements belong to the same series and that the voltage version matches – both appear in our item titles.

What does the designation VAC/DC mean on a signalling device?That the device can be operated with both alternating and direct voltage of the stated value. On devices that allow only one type, only VAC or only VDC is stated – mixing them up means at best that nothing happens.
