The glass fiber-reinforced polyester tape 45 combines the good electrical properties of a polyester film with the high stability of a glass fabric tape. The 0.177 millimeter thick insulating tape can withstand a breakdown voltage of 5,500 volts and, with a temperature resistance of up to 105 °C, belongs to insulation class A. At the same time, the printable polyester tape is coated with a flame-retardant, extremely strong thermosetting silicone adhesive and therefore has a very high tensile strength. This makes it suitable for all types of bundling, fastening and suspension with high mechanical loads. Due to its extreme tear resistance, the adhesive tape is also suitable for short-circuit current-proof bundling of medium-voltage cables. Since the transparent polyester tape is not UV-resistant, a cover with PVC insulating tape is required for outdoor applications.
