RED 5620-40-0012 ceiling recessed light 5W SPOTEXX® CCT+dimm housing white content_copy

The LED recessed spotlight SPOTEXX® by RED is a pivotable indoor spotlight suitable for accent and ambient lighting in various indoor spaces such as offices, corridors, work and living rooms, as well as bathrooms. With a power consumption of 5 W and a luminous flux of 550 lumens, it provides sufficient brightness for typical indoor lighting tasks. The spotlight features a beam angle of 38°, enabling targeted, focused light distribution, ideal for highlighting objects or surfaces. The color temperature is switchable and includes three settings: 2700 K (warm white), 3350 K, and 4000 K (neutral white), allowing the lighting ambiance to be adapted to different usage scenarios. The pivotable design enables flexible adjustment of the light beam without additional mounting work.

Applications
SPOTEXX® is designed for indoor use, particularly in rooms where targeted yet also general lighting is required. The IP44 protection rating makes it splash-proof, allowing use in humid environments such as bathrooms or kitchens, as long as there is no direct water exposure. The combination of pivotable optics and switchable color temperature makes it versatile for different requirements, such as in workspaces where neutral white lighting is beneficial, or in living rooms where a warm white ambiance is desired.

Functions and Features in Detail
The spotlight is dimmable via phase-cut and trailing-edge dimming methods, enabling adjustment of brightness according to the specific lighting situation. Dimmability is compatible with common dimmers that support these techniques. The pivotable optics allow tilting of the light beam to shift the lighting focus without having to remount the entire luminaire. The housing color of the model described here is white matte, although the product is also available in black matte and brushed nickel.

Technology Explained Simply
The operating voltage is 220–240 V AC with a frequency of 50/60 Hz, enabling use in European power grids. The luminous flux of 550 lumens at 5 W power consumption corresponds to a high luminous efficacy, typical for LED technology. The lifespan is 50,000 hours, which under normal operating conditions corresponds to a long service life. Additionally, 50,000 switching cycles are specified, highlighting the device’s robustness when frequently turned on and off. The required ceiling cutout is Ø 68–75 mm, which must be considered during installation planning.

Compatibility and Accessories
SPOTEXX® is compatible with dimmers supporting phase-cut and trailing-edge dimming methods. No specific accessories are mentioned in the sources, but standard installation components for recessed spotlights can be used. The pivotable optics and switchable color temperature allow adaptation to various lighting scenarios without requiring additional modules.

Installation and Mounting
Mounting is done into a ceiling cutout with a diameter of 68 to 75 mm. The pivotable optics allow easy adjustment of the light beam after installation. The IP44 protection rating requires no special measures during installation, as long as the application remains indoors and there is no direct water exposure. Use in bathrooms is possible, but not in areas where water directly splashes onto the luminaire.

Operational Advantages
SPOTEXX® offers a long lifespan of 50,000 hours and a high number of switching cycles, resulting in low maintenance and replacement costs. The switchable color temperature and dimmability enable flexible use, adaptable to different times of day, moods, or usage scenarios. The pivotable optics increase flexibility in light direction without requiring additional mounting work. The IP44 protection rating extends the range of applications to humid indoor environments.
