HQL – High-Pressure Mercury Vapour LampsHQL lamps (high-pressure mercury vapour lamps) were the standard in street, industrial and hall lighting for decades. They produce light through high-pressure gas discharge in mercury vapour. Technical characteristics: colour temperature approx. 4000 K (bluish-white), Ra 45–60, warm-up time 3–5 minutes, re-ignition time after switching off 5–10 minutes. Shapes: oval bulb (HQL), reflectorised (HQLI). Wattages: 80 W, 125 W, 250 W, 400 W, 700 W, 1000 W. Important: standard HQL lamps have not been permitted in retail since April 2015 (EU Regulation 245/2009). Available as replacement lamps for existing installations.
