What plotter width do I need for A1/A0 printing?
A0 (841 mm width) requires a 36" plotter (914 mm roll width). A1 fits on 24" (610 mm). For CAD drawings up to A0, the HP DesignJet T200/T600 series is ideal.

What is the difference between a technical plotter and a graphic plotter?
Technical plotters are optimised for line accuracy (CAD, plans). Graphic plotters deliver photorealistic colours for displays and fine art. Both can print PDF, but ink systems and gamut differ.

Do I need RIP software for a wide format printer?
For simple CAD printing, the supplied driver suffices. For colour management, profiling, tiling and professional advertising print, a RIP solution is recommended (EFI Fiery, Onyx).
