Which magnification is best suited for electronics assembly work?
For SMD soldering and PCB inspection, 3 dioptres (1.75x magnification) are recommended – sufficient for 0402 components at a comfortable working distance of approx. 30 cm. For fine structures below 0.3 mm, the 5-dioptre variant (2.25x) with a shorter working distance is appropriate.

Are replacement lenses available for Fixpoint magnifier lamps?
Yes – Fixpoint replacement lenses are available separately and listed in the shop. When ordering, ensure that the diameter (125 mm or 175 mm) and dioptre count match your lamp model. Lens replacement is tool-free and takes just a few minutes.

Are Fixpoint lights suitable for cleanroom or ESD workstations?
Standard Fixpoint lamps are not ESD-certified but can be used at ESD workstations when connected with an ESD earthing connection. For certified cleanroom Class 5 requirements, we recommend consulting our technical sales team for suitable alternatives.
